Clubs in MIC

  



MIC experience shouldn't be limited to the classroom. In MIC, we offer various clubs which can help in learning new skills and honing the skills. We have clubs for music to reporting. So here is a list of major clubs in MIC.

 

(A) The Manipal Journal

                                                         

The Manipal Journal (TMJ) is a club for aspiring reporters and this club has a really rich history. TMJ is the first independent news website based in Manipal. They offer Manipal-centric coverage and their mission is to provide unbiased and ethical journalism. You apply to the Editorial, Social Media, Photography and Videography and Graphics departments.

 

(B) YELL Club


YELL Club is for those who love to voice their opinions, public speaking and debate. The club holds an event called Pro. Verb, which is a debating tournament. You can apply to the Content, Design, Debate/Public Speaking and Social Media departments.

 

(C) Kalamanch


If you have a flair for acting and dramatics Kalamanch is the right place for you. Kalamanch is the official dramatics and performing arts club of MIC. They frequently hold Nukkad Natak and play in and around Manipal. You can apply to various departments in this club like Direction, Writing, Acting, Music, Set and Design, Makeup and Costume and Documentation.

 

(D) Neem



If you love nature, look no further, as Neem is the place for you. Neem is MIC's first Nature Club, who have a holistic approach towards Environment and Mental Health. NEEM also conducts an annual environmental fest called GAIA. A few activities the club works on include tree plantation drives, field trips, seminars and workshops.

 

(E) Manipal Film Study Center (MFSC)



MFSC is the club that eats, sleeps and breathes cinema. They frequently hold movie screenings and movie discussions. This is one of those clubs that go Instagram live almost every Friday. You can apply to the Content, Graphic Design, Social Media /Publicity, Moderators, Documentation and Coordinator departments.

 

There are many other clubs like Unplugged for music lovers and Meraki for people who are passionate dancers.

 

The clubs are a major part of any MICan as that is where you can interact with people of the same interest, make some incredible friends and meet that senior who will be your ultimate guide to your MIC experience.
