Messes in Manipal
A big part of life, college life, away away away from home is...food! If you're a fresher just here to learn more about your college, it's natural for you to want to know what sort of messes the campus provides. Well, good thing you came across this article! Here's a list of a few big messes all across the MIT campus.
Food Court 2
The only other food court on the MIT Campus is food court 2, which is frequently referred to as the best mess in Manipal. The majority of boys frequent FC2, which is close to blocks 14, 15, 18, and 19 and is direct across from blocks 16 and 17. It is air-conditioned and offers excellent food.
The food that you paid for, along with your hostel fees, is served on the upper floor, while the ground floor has "The Indian kitchen," which offers a wide variety of dishes that students can purchase. The weekly rotation ensures that the menu never becomes "boring" and is generally very good.
Food court 1
After orientation, the large and stunning MIT Food Court will be the first thing you as first years will notice as you move towards the hostel blocks from the academic building. You will eat breakfast, lunch, tea, and dinner every day at the same times as in all other messes.
Unlike other engineering colleges in India, the food served here or in any campus mess is prepared and served hygienically. Having a month-end special dinner every month to serve something different will prevent the menu from appearing boring after one month of being excellent.
Apoorva Mess
The 8th block, the D-block hostels, the way to the 14th and 15th blocks, and all the downhill hostels are all nearby this mess. Due to the extensive menu that is available here to order food from, in addition to the usual weekly menu served meals, this mess is also the closest to what you would call a restaurant. The non-vegetarian dishes that are offered and a lot of the sweet and energizing drinks are some of the dishes from its menu that are most frequently recommended. A pleasant seating area outside the mess enhances the ambience and serves as the location for screening numerous cricket matches.
Sindhi Mess
If you observe a familiar face frequently eating in a food court, they suddenly start narrating, "Oh man! If someone says, "The food was just like back home!" you will immediately know that they have eaten at Sindhi Mess. One of the best meals on campus is served in this tiny house, which is close to the temple run route and on the way to the Kamath Book Store. The menu is delicious in every way even though it may not have as many options as other messes. When compared to the excellent food, the dining area is small and the atmosphere is a little lacking.
Annapoorna Mess
Salutations to the ruler/queen of all the messes that exist on the MIT campus! The Annapoorna Mess, which is close to the 9th block hostel and is regarded by many as having the best food and menu, is located there. Senior students frequent this area in large numbers, and there is a significant rush to register there at the start of each semester. Even with its repetitive menu cycle, people enjoy eating here because of the excellent quality of the food served. Everywhere on campus, the meal times and quantities are the same. The only drawback is that it is far from academic buildings and girls' hostels, which is the only thing that can be said against it.
The campus also has other options for messes attached to your hostel. Example, Block 13 comes attached with Aashreya mess, if you want, you can opt to eat here as well. In general, there's many places you can try tasty food at in the MIT campus; from Student Plaza's MFC and Kitchen to Pavilion cafe, there's always something for all your cravings.
